Job Objective & Key Result Areas

The primary objective of a Business Development Manager at OYO is to strategize, launch, and scale up the company’s business operations in new markets. To achieve this objective, the BDM must engage in lead generation to identify key properties that can be acquired to do business with OYO. The BDM will also meet property owners and sell OYO’s vision of providing comfortable stays for many.

Building a joint business plan with property owners is another key responsibility of the BDM. By doing so, the BDM can ensure a profitable business association with the property owners. Additionally, the BDM must liaise with key stakeholders, including property owners, the transformation team, and the operation team, across all stages from lead generation to property going live.

 

The BDM must also conduct periodic reviews of the Service Level Agreements (SLAs) signed off with the property owners. Furthermore, the BDM must resolve issues arising between property owners, the transformation team, and the operations team.

Key Performance Indicators

The BDM’s performance is measured through three key performance indicators, which are:

 

  1. Number of Sellable Rooms Signed Month on Month: This KPI indicates how many new properties the BDM has signed to do business with OYO on a monthly basis.

 

  1. Number of Sellable Rooms Made Live Month on Month: This KPI indicates how many new properties the BDM has brought live on OYO’s platform on a monthly basis.

 

  1. Gross Margin Derived from the Properties Signed: This KPI indicates the profitability of the properties signed by the BDM.

Education and Experience

To be eligible for the role of Business Development Manager at OYO, you must have at least a graduation degree, with an MBA preferred. The company is looking for candidates with 1-5 years of experience, strong negotiation skills, analytical and data-driven approach, and proofreading skills for legal contracts. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working hands-on in a fast-paced start-up environment, with excellent soft skills like ERP/APP usage, Excel, and email writing.
